Honoring our Wonderful Dietetic Educators

December 5th, 2012

Do you know a fabulous dietetic educator? We are now accepting nominations for this year’s Outstanding Dietetic Educator of the Year award! Take time to honor those who work tirelessly to inspire and impart knowledge on dietetic students in Utah. There are so many wonderful dietetic programs across our state and there is no shortage of deserving professionals. The nomination form can be downloaded from this blog post, simply click here! Below you will find a message from Adrienne Aldous explaining the award and how you can nominate your favorite professor or colleague.

Dear Colleagues,

I know this is a hectic time of year with the end of the semester crunch along with planning for the holidays. I’d like, however, to invite you to nominate someone in your department as Outstanding Dietetic Educator of the year. The purpose of the Outstanding Dietetics Educator Award program is to recognize the teaching, mentoring, and leadership activities of faculty and preceptors in accredited dietetics education programs. One educator or preceptor can be selected from each of the program types.

Click the link above to download the application form for submission for nominations (one per program type) in the Coordinated Program in Dietetics, Dietetic Internship, or Didactic Program in Dietetics. Applicants must be a member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. They must have demonstrated innovative teaching skills and techniques. The committee will be looking for strong mentoring skills as well as leadership in national, state, or district dietetic association activities, community service, honors received, scientific and professional presentations, publications, employment, etc. The UAND Scholarship and Awards Committee will do the final review and selection. Please send the Data Sheet and a letter of support for your nominations to me by December 15, 2012.

Please send your nomination to:

                               Adrienne Aldous

                               3762 Eastcliff Circle
