These are volunteer positions, and a lot of time and effort goes into taking on these roles. Here on the blog we spotlight board members who are so willing to share their time and expertise on behalf of dietitians in Utah.<\/p>\n<h1>Introducing Robin Aufdenkampe!<\/h1>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/eatrightutah.org\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/Aufdenkampe-Pic.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-1605\" title=\"Aufdenkampe Pic\" src=\"http:\/\/eatrightutah.org\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/Aufdenkampe-Pic-237x300.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"166\" height=\"210\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>What is your current role in UAND and the responsibilities associated with it?\u00a0 <\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: normal;\">At this time I\u2019m in the President-Elect position.\u00a0 My responsibilities are to attend the UAND Board meetings and participate in the Pillar activities, particularly the Education Pillar.\u00a0 I also attend the UAND social events and in some cases I have the ability to coordinate an event.\u00a0 This position is responsible for scheduling the meetings for next year and finding educational opportunities for UAND members.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>What are you looking forward to most for this upcoming year with UAND?<\/strong>\u00a0 As I think ahead to 2017 I\u2019m looking forward to more membership involvement and engagement.\u00a0 If we can recruit new members, engage existing members, and provide more social and education opportunities it will really strengthen our organization<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>What is your favorite food to cook and why?<\/strong> I love to bake.\u00a0 There is a challenge to baking.\u00a0 Obtaining just the right texture (flakiness, sponginess, fluffiness) and balancing sweetness or tartness requires a lot of trial and error.\u00a0 Baking also allows for endless decorating opportunities, which makes your final product a piece of art.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>If you could have any super power, what would it be?<\/strong>\u00a0 Unlimited abilities of memorization and recall.\u00a0 I love to learn and get so frustrated when I can\u2019t remember a fact or the perfect word in the moment.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>What are you currently doing for work?<\/strong> I\u2019m a Clinical Nutrition Manager at Primary Children\u2019s Hospital, working with a great team.\u00a0 My current projects include promoting dietitian services in the outpatient setting and in clinics, pediatric malnutrition research, obtaining order-writing privileges for dietitians, and developing and promoting Telenutrition opportunities.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>What is your favorite part of your job?\u00a0<\/strong> Working with my dietitian colleagues.\u00a0 I work with an amazing team of highly engaged, positive, intelligent, and like-minded individuals.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Do you have any advice for young dietitians?<\/strong>\u00a0 Continue to look for opportunities for growth, not only in your own education and career, but also for our profession.\u00a0 Become engaged in the initiatives that impact our profession.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>What is your favorite cookbook and why?<\/strong>\u00a0 Julia Child\u2019s Master the Art of French Cooking.\u00a0 Great food and challenging recipes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Share your own personal philosophy or favorite quote<\/strong>.\u00a0 \u201cWhat you do speaks so loudly that I cannot hear what you say\u201d \u2013 Ralph Waldo Emerson<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>What three traits do you think define you?<\/strong> Love and appreciate others. Seek out challenges and adventure.
